We are a group of ordinary people interested in building, operating and maintaining trains. But "Live Steam" is more than just trains. Just to name a few, "Live Steam" also includes steam powered tractors; stationary mill engines; steam driven pumps, hammers, calliopes, pile drivers, cranes, boats, cars and whatever the imagination can invent. Presently, the largest interest of CVLS live steam activity is heavily oriented toward trains.
Within the pages of this website, you will also find information about the history of the club, our operating and meeting schedule, upcoming events, club pictures and even a page that links to other clubs and related train sites.
The club has even been known to host a birthday party (or two), so if you’re looking for something unique, check out our birthday page for more info.
We have a layout map that has “clickable” locations. Just “click” on a number at a particular location and it shows a picture of that site. (Unfortunately, we are working on getting pictures for each location, so check back occasionally for updates).
Remember, you don’t have to be rich to get into the world of Live Steam… just really wealthy. Just kidding!!! There are many projects that won’t break your bank account. Many of our members get trained and qualified and don’t own a single piece of equipment. Just being involved is what is important.
Come out to the park, join in and before you know it, you will be as obsessed as the rest of us are.
Remember… whether it’s riding, birthday parties or just straight out donations, all money is used for the building and upkeep of the trains and associated supporting equipment. Contrary to popular belief, all our members are volunteers and other than the joy of being associated with trains, we receive no pay or compensation.
